The Ladycat Invitational ended today with the Ladycats taking the 3rd place trophy in a great win over Arlington Seguine. The Ladycats had lost to Seguine in the early round in pool play but today was a different story with the Ladycats winning 50-46! Leading out in scoring for the Ladycats was Freshman Taylor Morgan with 24, shooting 7-8 from the free throw line today! Dominating inside was Junior Captain, Sarah Haeussler who scored 6 points, 5 assists, 18 rebounds and holding down the paint with 4 (yes,…..4!) defensive charges. Janessa Payne was a force around the paint with her first double double of the season with 10 rebounds and 14 points! But tenacious defense from Riley Sale, Elizabeth Allanach, Hannah Adrion and Cheney Huddleston shored up the win for the Ladycats holding the leading scorer for Seguine well under her average denying her the paint. This team is ready for district play and will travel to Chisholm Trail on Tuesday night.
The Aledo Invitational Tournament was a great success. A special thank you to the Ladycat Hoops Club President, Juliet Allanach, the Board, and all of the Ladycat parents for hosting such a wonderful event for our Ladycats and the Aledo community! We received amazing reviews from our visiting coaches and their fans for a wonderful tournament and amazing hospitality!
Way to go Ladycats!
