“It takes effort to win a game, but it takes courage to change the game. ”- Michael Jordan
This afternoon at the Aledo Ladycat Invitational Tournament the Ladycats defeated the HSAA North Team in overtime 56-51. In the first half, the Ladycats played with the visitors but could never break away and take a lead. The Ladycats had great effort but didn’t command the game. But somewhere in the fourth quarter, the Ladycats decided this was their game playing tough man defense and taking over the defensive rebounds…..”courage to change a game”. Trailing by two points, with 18 seconds left in regulation, Taylor Morgan drove the lane and extended the game into overtime! In overtime, the Ladycats worked the offense patiently forcing the visitors to foul and sealed the game on the free throw line. On the defensive end, the Ladycats sealed up the lane holding the visitors to 4 points…….”effort to win a game.” The Ladycats were led in scoring by Taylor Morgan with 26 points (8-15 FG;1-2 3Pt; 9-13 FT; 5 Ast; 3 steals;4 Reb); Sarah Haeussler 11 points (4-7 FG; 3-6 FT; 7Reb;2 blocks); Janessa Payne (3-9 FG; 0-1 3Pt; 1-2 FT; 8 Reb); Elizabeth Allanach (3-5 FG; 1-2 3Pt; 3 Reb;1 Ast; 1 steal); Riley Sales (1-3 FG; 2-4 FT; 3 Reb; 1 Ast; 2 steals); Cheney Huddleston (1-2 FT; 2Reb; 1 steal; 1 Ast)
