In Tuesdays District 6-5A tennis match, the AHS Varsity Team defeated Boswell 18-1 to improve their record to 4-0 in district and 8-1 on the season.
Taking victories in six of seven doubles matches, Aledo led 6-1 going into singles. Posting wins were the pairings of Priscilla Schimming/Allison Dale (8-2), Erin Davis/ Olivia Key (8-1), Carly Siddons/Concetta Ogden (8-2), Lance McClure/Miles Grubbs (8-0), Alec Meendsen/Jared Kelm (8-0), James Young/Payton Neeley (8-1). In a very tight mixed doubles match, Boswell took the victory (7-9) from Aledo’s Tristyn Fambrough/John Llewellyn.
The AHS boys were dominant in singles posting wins in six of six matches. Wins came from Meendsen (6-1, 6-2), McClure (6-0, 6-0), Grubbs (8-0), Young (6-1, 6-1), Kelm (6-0, 6-1) and Neeley (6-4, 6-2). In an additional match, Zach Leeper posted a (9-7) victory over Boswell.
The Aledo girls were equally dominant taking six of six singles matches. Wins came from Schimming (6-0, 6-0), Davis (6-4, 6-2), Key (8-1), Fambrough (8-1), Siddons (6-1, 6-0) and Ogden (6-0, 6-3). Posting a victory in an additional girls’ singles match was Maddie Farmer (8-0).
AHS will play Northwest High School at home on Tuesday September 26th.
