We played the Burleson Hughes teams last night at home and had a good crowd watching

7A team – A team came out tonight strong winning the first game 25-20, then we struggled in the second and third games losing 22-25 and 20-25. Coach Grice was really impressed with our attacks from the outside. They did a good job for their first match. They are going to make some adjustments and will be ready for next week. Overall she was proud of them in their first match of the season.

7B they did great tonight coming out strong to win 25-13, then we got nervous in the second game and had a hard time with serve receive and ended up losing 19-25. We then came back to win overall in the third game 25-20. Coach Grice was really impressed with their aggression from the service line.

7C - They came out and won 25-11, 25-15. The Ladycats played well together tonight. They will continue to practice and improve on their volleyball skills. Coach Jefferis was impressed with this group of young ladies.

8th A team – The A team faced a really good Burleson Hughes team. We started out a little nervous in the first game and lost 13-25. We regrouped and settled down and came out winning the game and was ahead 23-14, but the pressure got to us again and we tightened up and lost a hard fought one 25-27. Overall, I was proud of their hard work but we still have lots to improve on. We will be ready for next match for sure.

8th B team The B team also came out nervous and lost the first game 20-25. They came out and played hard the next two to win 25-18, and 25-16. I thought they handled the pressure well and stayed calm and took the opponent out. We will work on some more things and be even stronger next week.

8th C team- The C team won in three- 25-12, 22-25, and 25-14. The girls had a great first game. Once all the first game jitters were gone, the girls did a great job playing as a team and were able to beat Burleson. I’m proud of their effort last night.
