Capturing a huge 15-4 win against undefeated district foe Northwest High School, the Aledo High School Tennis Team extended their district record to 5-0 on the season.
In doubles the AHS boys’ pairings of Alec Meendsen/Lance McClure (8-3), Jared Kelm/Miles Grubbs (8-3) and Ben Colvin/James Young (8-2) posted wins, while the girls’ doubles teams of Nikki Adamie/Erin Davis (8-5) and Priscilla Schimming/Allison Dale (8-0) also posted wins. The mixed doubles pairing of Trey Fambrough/Carly Siddons (8-3) were also victorious. Courtney Andrews/Tristyn Fambrough fell to Northwest (5-8).
In singles pairings, Adamie (6-3, 6-0), Schimming (6-1, 6-4), Davis (6-2, 6-3) and Andrews (6-0, 6-4) all posted wins. Dale (7-6(7-2)5-7, 8-10) and Siddons (3-6, 3-6) lost in close matches.
The boy’s posted wins in 5 of 7 singles matches against Northwest: Meendsen (5-7, 6-4, 12-10), Kelm (6-0, 6-1), McClure (6-4, 6-0), Grubbs (6-1, 6-2), and Young (6-2, 6-2. Posting losses were Fambrough (6-3, 6-0) and Tristen Trotter (5-8).
AHS will play Chisholm Trail at home on Tuesday September 27th for their next district match.
