The Orange JV Defense dominated the Saginaw Roughrider’s JV Thursday night. Jake McLendon had two interceptions on the night, returning one for a touchdown, Logan Lopez returned a punt for a touchdown, Zach Reinert led the defense in tackles and had a fine pop on a wide receiver that ignited the defense in the first quarter. Cody Stone led the front four with several tackles and 2 QB sacks, also of note, Dane Jones played well up front at the DE position spilling the counter all night long to hold the Roughriders scoreless on the night.

On offense, the Offensive Line of Cameron Callaway, Cooper Thompson, Logan Escamilla, Chandler Knandal, Colby Thomas, Ricky Sandifer and TE’s Zach Scott and Jackson Minick continually moved the line of scrimmage in a positive direction allowing an angry hoard of running backs to gain yardage all night long. Tre Owens had 3 TD passes and 2 rushing TD’s, Jay Miller had 2 TD receptions, and Mylen Hayhurst also had a TD reception. Also of note; gaining yardage in chunks on the ground, and scoring two rushing TD’s was Reagan Rice at the tailback position.

Next week the JV Orange will play Azle October 6 (Thursday), 7:00 at Azle HS.
