Following a complete shutout last Thursday , October 14 against Arlington Heights winning 19-0 in the Area playoffs the RacquetCats lost to Wichita Falls Rider in their third round of playoffs Tuesday, October 19 in a close 9-10 match ending their Fall team tennis season.
The RacquetCats posted wins against Rider in boys’ doubles line 2 Ian Leslie/Scott Mason (6-0)(6-2), Line 3 Craig Mason/Ben Farmer(6-2)(6-3). Mixed Doubles team Georgia Posey/Zane Martin won with a score of (6-2)(6-1). Boy’s Singles wins went to line 2 Ian Leslie (1-6)(6-4)10-8, line 4 Scott Mason(6-1)(6-1), line 5 Ben Farmer (6-4)(6-0), line 6 Craig Mason (6-4)(6-2). Girl’s victories were line 5 Paige Federman (6-3)(6-7)8 (10-6) and line 6 Ellie Kate Bussmeir (6-1)(7-5).
So many games and sets came down to deuces, tiebreakers and super tiebreakers. What a score can’t show is all the hard work that each Aledo player put into each game, set and match played. The Aledo RacquetCats close out their entire season including playoffs with a winning record of 10-5. Spring tennis season will start in late January 2022.
