The JV Orange beat Eaton 63-0 on Thursday behind a stout defense that shutout the Eagles and an offensive attack led by Tre Owens who repeatedly gave the Eagle defense the old “23 Skidoo” for four quarters of football. The defense (backed up by a bevy of hard knocks) held the Eagles in check all night long by continually stuffing the RB and QB at the line of scrimmage. The secondary consisting of Jake McClendon, Jake Ford (1 pick), Mylen Hayhurst (1 pick), Ryan Anderson (6 tackles), and Logan Lopez continually harassed the Eagles receiving corps like an angry swarm off Bearcats looking for an injured bird of prey that just stole their last meal. Up front, linebacker Zach Reinert and defensive tackle Zach Haynes disrupted the run game of Eaton all night long with several jarring collisions at the line of scrimmage.
On offense, Tre Owens at QB was 6-8-112 and 2 TD’s passing. Tre rushed for 6 TD’s while gaining 197 yards on the ground on 9 carries. Regan Rice, (behind the blocking of Logan Escamilla, Chandler Knandel, Cameron Callaway, Colby Thomas, and Cooper Thompson) had 116 yards on the ground with 1 TD, and a 25 yard TD reception. Josh Lamb tacked on a 25 yard TD run, and Mylen Hayhurst caught a 9 yard TD reception to end the scoring onslaught for the night at Bearcat Stadium.
Next week the JV Orange will play Brewer at Brewer HS stadium, Thursday the 20th, at 7:00. Until then, Go Bearcats!
