The Aledo High School Varsity Tennis Team swept Denton 19-0 to win round one of Area play.
Posting wins in doubles’ pairings were Nikki Adamie/Erin Davis (6-0, 6-0) and Allison Dale/Carly Siddons (6-3, 6-2), Courtney Andrews/Tristyn Fambrough (6-1, 6-4), Alec Meendsen/Lance McClure (6-2, 6-0), Jared Kelm/Miles Grubbs (6-3, 6-2), and Ben Colvin/James Young (6-2, 7-5). The mixed doubles pairing of Trey Fambrough/Priscilla Schimming (6-3, 6-2) was also victorious.
In girls’ singles Adamie (6-0, 6-0), Schimming (6-1, 6-0), Davis (6-1, 6-1), Siddons (6-4, 6-2), Claire Stagner (7-5, 7-5) and Tr. Fambrough (6-1, 6-2) all posted wins. In an additional match Taryn Fambrough lost to Denton (5-8).
In boys’ singles Meendsen (6-1, 6-0), Kelm (6-1, 6-2), McClure (6-0, 6-0), Grubbs (6-1, 6-2), Fambrough (6-1, 6-2) and Young (8-1). In additional matches Tristen Trotter (8-6) and Ben Colvin (8-4) posted wins.
Aledo will play in the Area Semi-Finals on Friday morning at 9:30.

In a non-district match against Mansfield High School, the District Champion from 4-6A, Aledo posted a 7-12 loss.

Posting a win in an additional match were Claire Stagner/Taryn Fambrough (8-3). Falling were Alec Meendsen/Lance McClure (5-8), Jared Kelm/Miles Grubbs (5-8), and Trey Fambrough/Priscilla Schimming (6-8).
In singles posting wins were Adamie (8-4), Davis (8-0), and Young (8-4) with additional wins coming from Stagner (8-5) and Colvin (8-4). Schimming (2-8), Siddons (4-8), Andrews (4-8), Tri. Fambrough (8-9(4-7), Kelm (5-8), McClure (6-8), Grubbs (4-8), Tre. Fambrough (3-8), and Tristan Trotter (5-8) lost their respective matches.
