The Aledo Varsity Tennis team kicked off their fall season on August 3, 2022 with a match against Boswell High School. Persevering through the heat, the Bearcats won 17-6, winning all but one of the doubles matches for a commanding lead. The team won 11 out of 16 singles matches to clinch the win.
On August 4, 2022, the Bearcats played their first double header, hosting Trinity High School in the morning, and Fossil Ridge High School at 2pm. The team dominated the morning match against Trinity, ending with a score of 23-1. Fossil Ridge provided heavy competition for the Boys Singles Lines 1 and 2, but the Bearcats again fought through the midday heat to end the match with a score of 19-4.
Members of the 2022-23 Varsity Team are as follows: Seniors: Ian Leslie, Hogan Posey and Paige Federman; Juniors: Scott Mason, Ben Farmer, Craig Mason and Kenley Germany; Sophomores: Bryanna Orr, Elli Kate Bussmeir, Eleanor Jack, Gracie Heydman, Patrice Loftin, Jacob Heckathorn, Will Beyer and Francois Britz; Freshman: Sydney Byrd. Freshman Natalie Nawrocki also competed in these matches.
Team tennis will continue next week with matches against Chisholm Trail on 8/9, Peaster on 8/10 (home) and Arlington Martin on 8/12 (home). Come out and support your Bearcats at our home matches! We are looking forward to a great season.
