Aledo Varsity Team Tennis Undefeated District Champions!
On Tuesday, October 4, 2022, AHS Team Tennis played its last district match against the Granbury Pirates and walked away with a 17-2 win.
Doubles scores were as follows: Bryanna Orr/Kenley Germany 6-4, 6-3; Elli Kate Bussmeir/Paige Federman 6-0, 6-0; Natalie Nawrocki/Patrice Loftin 6-3, 1-6 (10-6); Ben Farmer/Craig Mason 6-2, 6-0; Jacob Heckathorn/Francois Britz 6-0, 6-1; Scott Mason/Eleanor Jack 6-0, 6-1. Boys doubles Line 1 Ian Leslie/Hogan Posey fought to split sets, but lost in the tiebreaker, 3-6, 6-3 (4-10).
All boys’ singles matches were victorious. Line 1 Leslie fought a first set score of 0-6 to come back with a second set score of 6-0 and a 10-4 tiebreaker. Line 2 S. Mason defeated his opponent 9-7. The remainder of the boys line up had no problem with their competition, posting the following scores: Posey 6-3, 6-1; Farmer 6-0, 6-2; C. Mason 8-0; Heckathorn 6-3, 6-0 and Will Beyer 6-3.
In singles, the girls posted the following scores: Orr 6-0, 6-1; Bussmeir 6-0, 6-0; Germany 8-3; Federman 8-0; Gracie Heydman 8-2 and Sydney Byrd 6-4. Line 5 Jack fought to a 8-8 tie, then narrowly lost her match with a 7-9 tiebreaker.
District playoffs begin next Tuesday, with opponent and location to be determined. Congratulations on an amazing district run!
