The AHS SwimCats put in a great showing at the invitational which had 21 different schools compete. Qualifying for this meet and representing AHS were Seniors Tanner Howse & Sam Ogden, Juniors Hunter Gregory, Porter Lane, & Kyle Scharlow, Sophomores Bradyn Baughman, Victoria Crews, Avery Faulkner, Matila Moeller, Haley Roberson, & Corah Satterfield, and Freshman Natalie Hutson. Our girls took 10th place overall and boys took 15th overall in team standings. The girls took 5th place in team 200 medley relay with Natalie Hutson, Haley Roberson, Corah Satterfield, and Victoria Crews.
We also had several stand out athletes in individual events in a very large field of competition.
Haley Roberson scored 45 points for the team with a 1st place finish and setting a new school record in 200 individual medley with a time of 2’08.23” besting the previous school record of 2’08.35” set in 2013 and a 2nd place finish and setting a new school record in 100 freestyle with a time of 54.40” besting the previous school record of 55.32” set in 2017.
Sam Ogden scored 36 points for the team with a 3rd place finish in 100 backstroke with a time of 54.72” and a 7th place finish in 100 freestyle with a time of 49.38”
Natalie Hutson scored 23 points for the team with a 6th place finish in 500 freestyle with a time of 5’45.88” and a 15th place finish in 100 backstroke with a time of 1’07.98”
Victoria Crews scored 11 points for the team with a 11th place finish in 100 butterfly with a time of 1’01.84”
Tanner Howse scored 8 points for the team with a 15th place finish in 200 freestyle with a time of 1’56.11” and a 19th place finish in 500 freestyle with a time of 5’20.90”
Matila Moeller scored 7 points for the team with a 14th place finish in 500 freestyle with a time of 6’07.84”
