n their second district match, the Varsity tennis team dominated Azle, winning all of the matches played at their home courts on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 for an overall score of 22-0.
In girls doubles, Line 1 Kenley Germany and Bryanna Orr won 6-3, 6-2; Line 2 Elli Kate Bussmeir and Patrice Loftin won 6-2, 6-0 and Line 3 Eleanor Jack and Sydney Byrd won their first set 6-1, narrowly lost the second set 6-7 with a 5-7 tiebreaker, but won the match with an 11-9 tie break score.
In boys doubles, Line 1 Craig Mason and Scott Mason lost the first set 3-6, but battled back to win the second set 6-3 and the tiebreaker 10-8. Line 2 Jacob Heckathorn and Francois Britz won 6-4, 6-1 and Line 3 Will Beyer and Paxton Psencik won 6-2, 6-1. The mixed doubles pair of Benjamin Farmer and Lila Satterfield won 6-3, 6-1.
With wins in all seven doubles matches, Aledo only needed to win 3 singles matches to claim victory. Finishing up first for the overall win was Girls Line 2 Germany with a score of 6-2, 6-1; Girls Line 3 Bussmeir with a score of 6-0, 6-1; Boys Line 4 Beyer with a score of 6-0, 6-0 and Boys Line 5 Heckathorn with a score of 6-1, 6-1.
Switching to pro-sets, Aledo continued to win. Girls Line 1 Orr won 8-1; Line 4 Satterfield won 8-4; Line 5 Gracie Heydman won 9-7; Line 6 Byrd won 8-2. Boys Line 1 C. Mason won 8-5; Line 2 Farmer won 8-6; Line 3 S. Mason won 8-4; and Line 6 Britz won 8-3.
Additional winning matches were Ibrahim Choudhry and Natalie Nawrocki in mixed doubles with a score of 8-1; Girls singles Loftin with a score of 8-1; and Boys singles Ben Kurth won 8-1 and Casen Freeland won 8-2.
