On Monday, the boys and girls Cross Country teams competed in the UIL Region 1 Cross Country Championships in Lubbock. Both teams qualified for STATE!!! The Varsity girls, let by individual Regional Champion Micah Neal, won the Regional Championship! They scored 45 points, 33 points ahead of second place. This is the first time the girls have won the Regional Cross Country Championship!

The boys ran extremely well also, placing 4th overall and qualifying for State! They were led by Layton Ybarra, who finished 11th overall – followed closely by Jack Fink (12th overall).

Both teams will be competing in the State Cross Country Championships on Friday, November 3rd. The meet will take place at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. Girls will run at 8:30am, followed by the boys at 9:10am.
