the Ladycats opened their 2016-17 season falling to a Mansfield Lake Ridge seasoned team with a score of 52-28. The Ladycats were led offensively tonight by Senior Chloe Mefford scoring 12 points, 6 from the free throw line. Sophomore, Anastasia Morrison, worked in hard at the post scoring 6. The Ladycats introduced 4 Freshman tonight to the Varsity team, Taylor Morgan, Janessa Payne, Riley Sale and Cheney Huddleston. Janessa showed her versatility in scoring 5 points and pulling in 5 rebounds. Riley Sale led the offense as the point guard and chipped in 2 gaining valuable Varsity experience. Juniors, Abby Losos added to the night with 1 point and 3 assists, Alaina Touchet pulled in 2 rebounds and Caden Cunningham added 2 points and 3 rebounds. This team is a young and promising group of Ladycats and will be fun to watch!
